Whistlebend School
Design-build delivery of a new elementary school for 425 K–7 students, incorporating First Peoples Learning Principles, outdoor learning connections and future expansion. The collaborative team used BIM, continuous cost control and value engineering to maintain the project goals and budget. The school was designed to achieve Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Gold Certification and exceeded energy requirements at 54% better than NECB, with a targeted 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
